Note: Preview seems to have a bug, see below...I might submit this multiple times, until it looks right (I'm still using preview for most of it tho), just delete old dupes & this note on the final version...
Please read the full, nicely-formatted post here...
...note that the mozillaZine topic was moved where Guests can't post, so I can't reply...but please post any status/comments here or to mozillaZine/mozilla.feedback.firefox/ComputerWorld...here & ComputerWorld I can reply...
I didn't post to Bugzilla since I'd need to register & it would blast my e-mail address to everyone...
...whether or not they "discourage" "normal people" from using multiple profiles, Firefox ITSELF needs to not mangle different versions profiles...Firefox 2 needs its own profile (& install dir), Firefox 3 needs its own, Firefox 3.5 might need its own...or use 3.0's if there aren't "breaking changes"...but no, actually, each version needs its own dirs no matter what, then you can install & run Firefox 2, 3 & 3.5 on the SAME computer & compare them, then uninstall 1 of them & the others aren't affected...the new versions SHOULD be able to import from ANY past version BUT NOT SAVE TO/OVERWRITE it...
I'm still using Firefox 2 because of this issue, if I install Firefox 3, it will EAT my Firefox 2 profile, then if I re-run Firefox 2 (on purpose or not) that will re-eat/downgrade/corrupt my newly-Firefox 3-upgraded "default" profile...so I try to use 1 profile like a good little Firefox user & IT CORRUPTS ITSELF...
Please if anyone makes any headway with this issue (like a Bugzilla report) post a link in any of these places (like the mozillaZine forum)...or actually post here!...
SUMO BUG: The font is ugly
All of support.mozilla.com is in Times New Freaking Roman or Georgia or some other damn serif font...which is ANNOYING...& UNREADABLE...please change to Arial or ANY sans-serif font...(BTW...is there any addon to deny websites the ability to use certain fonts? {no not by unchecking that box in Preferences, sites need to use different fonts, but not TNR or Georgia or other serif fonts that annoy me})...
FORUM/TIKI BUG: E-mail optional & required?
It says "If you would like to be notified when someone replies please tell us your e-mail address"...I would NOT like to receive E-mail about this (I want a reply, but I'll come back to check it)...but if I submit (preview) without one it says..."Before you can send us your question, please enter valid information for the highlighted fields."...&..."You must provide a valid email."...so I used no at support.mozilla.com...
FORUM/TIKI BUG: Preview of topic != Preview of post/reply
The preview of this new topic shows no blank lines/paragraph breaks...for example...
...when I copy/paste this same post into a reply & hit Preview, the preview is completely different, slightly better & slightly worse...
Final note: Just get phpBB3 & be done with this crappy "forum"...

Adblock Plus (who would be without this? eeek!)
FOXSCAPE (like Netscape 4's theme)
EditPrefs (it should be Edit -> Preferences... not Tools -> Options... !!!) (like Netscape 4)
OpenBox (like Netscape 4's Open Location Box...)
Enhanced History Manager (like Netscape 4's History Window)
Firesomething (so I can call it Firefox not "Mozilla Firefox")
Tab To Window (I HATE TABS!)

Using multiple profiles and profile management are advanced features...
...whether or not they "discourage" "normal people" from using multiple profiles, Firefox ITSELF needs to not mangle different versions profiles...Firefox 2 needs its own profile (& install dir), Firefox 3 needs its own, Firefox 3.5 might need its own...or use 3.0's if there aren't "breaking changes"...but no, actually, each version needs its own dirs no matter what, then you can install & run Firefox 2, 3 & 3.5 on the SAME computer & compare them, then uninstall 1 of them & the others aren't affected...the new versions SHOULD be able to import from ANY past version BUT NOT SAVE TO/OVERWRITE it...
