"Sending of password for user XXXX failed..."

I'm running Ubuntu 18.04. Would update to latest Ubuntu LTS but our internet is really slow and it's capped. Thunderbird version 91.9.1. I use TB to retrieve/send emails from two Gmail accounts. Both are set up as POP. This morning TB failed to get email from the second email account. First error message is "Sending of password for user XXX did not succeed. Mail server pop.googlemail.com responded: Username and password not accepted." I clicked OK, got second message. "Login to server p

Thunderbird keeps doing "login to xxxx failed"

I keep getting these messages that my login has failed. I check my passwords. They are correct when I log in online to my email server. What is this happening. Is there a glitch in Thunderbird?

Send message error (Unable to relay for xxxxxx@xxxx)

Hello! I added all my office emails to my home computer. At home they all work perfectly to receive but not to send. The server configurations are the same as at my office and they work perfectly there. The name of the outgoing server is smtp.oedim.com and I have already used ports 25, 587, 465 and 2525 to test. The message I receive is the following: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Unable to relay to egon@oedim.com. Pl

Missing emails

In my profile in the sub folder Mail, I ended up with 3 folders - Local Folders, XXXX.com (XXXX is the incoming sever name) and XXXX-1.com. This happened purely by chance with the XXXX-1 file containing all the data and folders off the old PC and the XXXX containing the emails from my internet provider from the time my old PC had died until the transfer. I renamed the XXXX-1 file and opened it in Thunderbird - all the emails were there. Seperately I did the same with the XXXX file - no emails appeared in Thunderbird. If I click on the XXXX file then click on Inbox and open it with Notepad, I can all the new emails.

Can not log in to Firefox account

Hello, I have two Firefox Accounts related to my email addresses of [edited} @thejones.org' and [edited] @thejones.org' In fact, they are really both the same email address and an alias. Other alias' for the email are [edited] @thejones.org and r[edited] @thejones.org. Please find the attached 39 bytes [edited] @thejones.org Firefox Recovery Key.txt file dated 9/08/2020 10: xxxx: xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxx Because of confusion on my part on how all this is supposed to fit together, I no longer have access to my original secure Firefox login for [edited] @thejones.org because I deleted the google authenticator app for that login.

Thunderbird 115 not allowing me to send e-mails

Server: smtp.office365.com Port: 587 Connection: STARTTLS Authentication: OAuth2 A browser looking window opens up with a long URL in it (https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/oauth2/v2.0/authorize?response_type=code&client_id=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Flocalhost&scope=https%3A%2F%2Foutlook.office365.com%2FIMAP.AccessAsUser.All+https%3A%2F%2Foutlook.office365.com%2FPOP.AccessAsUser.All+https%3A%2F%2Foutlook.office365.com%2FSMTP.Send+offline_access&login_hint=xxxxxxxx%40hotmail.com) the windows is just blank and the dialog box for sending opens.

CUSTOMISE FROM ADDRESS

Thankyou. Thanks for your reply, and apologies if I wasn't clear. Say I have 3 email addresses, all managed by TB: - one xxxx@talktalk.co.uk - one xxxx@free-online.co.uk - one xxxx@gmail.com The one that comes up by default when I click the 'Write' icon is the 1st one (From: xxxx@talktalk.co.uk), but I would like the 3rd one (@gmail) to come up by default. Hope that's a bit clearer. All the best.
