firefox 4 beta 12 can't print a page to adobe pdf printer unlike ealier versions

instead of bookmarking a page, I'd print to adobe pdf printer so I can always access offline but now it is no longer possible with firefox 4 beta 12. at first I thought adobe acrobat professional was corrupted so I repaired it - but I still had the same problem. I have installed acrobat professional 8 but nothing has really changed. Mark.

Here is an example of the typical result after this print. Other programs still work with the printer so the issue is definitely on the firefox side.

This nasty bug is a known problem caused by the beta 12 update. You could wait til' the RC comes out, or you could grab one of the latest nightly builds availible here that fix this problem: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/

Just a note though, nightly versions of firefox are generally less stable than betas or releases. I am waiting for the Release Candidate to come out myself. (Should be early next week)

Why should we have to wait for the next, patch it some of us dont like to go into all the hassels of using zip files, This is a critical fault since we may need to print out important papers for work or personal. How about it?

deafwiz,

Then don't use beta, pre-release software for "important" tasks!
The Firefox 4.0 betas don't install over previous versions of Firefox, exactly for that reason. If you had an older version of Firefox and didn't uninstall it yourself, it should still be installed and usable.

Until a fixed version is [for real] released you might like the add-on called PDF Download 3.0.0.2. It allows you to send the current tab's page to a site which does the conversion to PDF and sends the resulting document back to you as a download. A little slow, but it does work.

Just updated Beta 4 to RC - Beta RC still has the same problem. I hope they fix the issue prior to coming out with the final version. I use CutePDF Writer to create all my PDF's. Until Firefox 4 is fixed, I'll continue using Firefox 3.6.x.

I also used the same solution given at [[PDF Printing not working|https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/760923]] Though it works, it's not really a valid solution. I too hope the fine folks of Mozilla can fix this, as Firefox is my current browser of choice for many reasons.
