Since updating to Firefox 8, when I use a site that has a safe pop up that I allow, Firefox keeps blocking it even though I have asked it to make an exception for that particular site. Can this function be returned to the way it was?

Have you tried turning off the popup blocker feature in Firefox?

If that doesn't allow the popup, make sure that you don't have another popup blocker installed, like maybe as part of a security program?

I have the pop-up blocker turned on, however I have website entered within the 'Exceptions' functions, this should allow only those website to use pop-ups. The pop-up in questions are not adverts etc. that I want to block, they could be pictures or functions that opens in a new tab. To be honest, I would prefer to leave the pop-up blocker on (as was the case before upgrading) as it prevents a lot of junk from getting thrown up on screen.

Also....no other blocker being used. Firefox only.

I have used Firefox 8.0 for a few weeks, but didn't have this problem until today. I last tried uploading photos to my web album at Picasa and Firefox blocked a popup. I allowed it, but yet Firefox still blocks.

We do not use any other popup blocker and would rather not have to turn the blocker off. We do not use Windows, but Linux, if that makes a difference.

Just got this with 32 bit Ubuntu 11.10 update to firefox 8.0+build1-0ubuntu0.11.10.3. Turning popup blocker off resolves the issue, but of course at the cost of the unwanted popus popping up everywhere too.

I am running firefox 7 and I am experiencing the same thing austin81 experience, but when i turn off popup blocker it still blocks some sites that are on my allow list (as seen by my screenshot). The only away around this; is of course running it admin style. However, I really wish for a way for regular user accounts to be able to without turning off pop up blocker in 7 or even in 8 in this matter.
