Firefox should be working fine as a 32 bit application on the 64 bit Windows 7 platform.

Make sure that your security is configured properly and isn't blocking or restricting Firefox in any way.

Began using a laptop with Windows 7.

Unable download/install Firefox. Nothing happens when I click on "download". Any workaround for this?

I got Firefox working on my new Win 7 Pro x64 PC for several days. Then, I had a warning message saying that Firefox was having problems 'recovering windows and tabs'. I got Firefox working after this incident having removed all but one tab, but ever since I have been unable to remove the last ApTab. Firefox goes into 'Not Responding' when a key is pressed or on a mouse click. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing several times , but the result is the same. I tried deleting application data after uninstalling Firefox, but after re-installation it now just loads into memory without running. It would appear that the only way I could get Firefox working is to re-install Win 7. I'm not going to do this. Unless someone knows the Registry key to get rid of Firefox its debris will rest in my PC's registry. Welcome Google Chrome!
