How to set the home page
The home page is the page Firefox shows when you start it or when you click the Home button in the toolbar. You can change the start page to any web site, several web sites, or even a blank page. You can also choose to see the windows and tabs you had open when you closed Firefox last.

Choosing your start option
By default, when Firefox starts, a single window is opened, displaying your specified home page. If you would like to choose a different start option, or want to switch back to using your home page:
- At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
- Select the General panel (Main panel in Firefox 3.5).
- From the When Firefox starts drop-down, choose one of the following options:
- Show my home page to always start Firefox using the same web site.
- Show a blank page to start Firefox without loading any websites
- Show my windows and tabs from last time to restore your previous session.
- Click to close the Options windowClick to close the Preferences windowClose the Preferences window
Setting the home page
There are several ways to set your home page:
Dragging it to the home button
- Navigate to the page you want set as your home page.
- Click on the icon to the left of the web address and drag it to the Home toolbar button.
Use current pages button
- Navigate to the page you want set as your home page.
- At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
- Select the General panel (Main panel in Firefox 3.5).
- Click on .
- If you have a group of tabs open, the entire group of tabs will be set as your home page.
- You can also use the button to set one of your bookmarks as your home page.
Typing it in manually
- At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
- Select the General panel (Main panel in Firefox 3.5).
- In the Startup box, highlight the text in the Home Page: box. By default, this will say
http://en-US.start.mozilla.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official
If you are not using an English version of Firefox, this may be slightly different. - Replace the text with the address of the website you wish to be your new home page. For example, to set your home page to Yahoo!, enter
http://www.yahoo.com/

- To manually set multiple home pages, separate each URL with the pipe (|) symbol. For example, if you want Yahoo! and Google as home pages, type
http://www.yahoo.com/|http://www.google.com/

- Click to close the Options windowClick to close the Preferences windowClose the Preferences window.
Setting the home page back to the default
- At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
- Select the General panel (Main panel in Firefox 3.5)
- In the Startup box, click .

- Click to close the Options windowClick to close the Preferences windowClose the Preferences window.
