Issue

I have another kind of problem with Firefox

Description

I want to view an online statement. The vendor's website tries to download a file called "StatementView.do". Firefox asks me what app I want to open it with. I thought a .do file was a Java Servlet file. When I click on the same link in the vendor's website using the Safari browser, it displays a PDF file. I did a full uninstall, including profile, and reinstall. No luck.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

Should have added above that when I click on the "View Statement" button it says in the status bar "javascript:openNewPDFWindow()". Except it doesn't open the window. It displays the dialog box (attached).

There is usually some GET data (like ?file=xxxx) appended to such a .do link to specify what to do.
It is possible that security software corrupts such a link and removes that GET data with the result of a download pop-up that doesn't work.

Good points, except it works in Safari. If it were the security software, I would think it would cause a problem in Safari. Or perhaps not.

All security software differentiates between applications and has separate rules for each one, so that can still be possible.
