I have the same problem. I had to disable the plugin, but lot of sites I use need this.

Firefox version - 3.5.4
Operating system - WinXP SP3.

Firefox become extremely slow and frequently "No responding" when it is loading/rendering security page (https) of HSBC ebanking pages.

My Firefox 3.5.4 locks up and becomes completely unresponsive every few minutes if I have javascript enabled.

Disabling javascript completely eliminates all issues with the application but makes the web experience a good bit degraded and some sites not functional.

Firefox 3.5.4 is now completely unusable. Prior to this update I had no issues with Firefox whatsoever.

I have the same problem. I upgraded my system from ubuntu jaunty to ubuntu karmic and with the new firefox 3.5.4 the problem just started. Whenever I open a page that loads java applet it will not respond and ultimately I have to force quit it. Below is the screen shot of my plugins and the problem i face.

I just updated and downloaded the plugin for adobe flash and now firefox is lagging like crazy.
It's really frustrating, I'd like to go back to the last version.

Same here. When I open a new tab or go to a new url, all of FF 3.5.4 hangs. Even menus. I'm having to type this in Safari!!!

hangs about 30 seconds everytime I open Firefox, Have 3.5.5 started when I loaded 3.5, never before. BIG MISTAKE TO UPDATE.

3.5.5 works irregularly if at all
G5 OSX4.7

worked fine in 3.5.4

FF 3.5.x has been a royal pain in the butt. It has been extremely slow to start and takes a very long time to render many, if not most, web pages. I hate to abandon FF, not least because of the extensions and RoboForm password and form filling functionality, but Chrome is many times faster and a more satisfying web experience. I give up waiting for FF to load pages that Chrome loads almost instantly. Running both browsers on Windows XP SP3. Prior to upgrading to v. 3.5, FF was just great.
