solution proposed Can't sync my Nokia E71 with Firefox 3.5.3

When I upgraded to 3.5, I was no longer able to synchronise bookmarks on my PC with those on my phone. Nokia PC Sync displays message:

Nokia PC Sync was unable to communicate with Mozilla Firefox 3, required for synchronising Web Bookmarks.
Possible Solution
Nokia PC Sync is unable to load the interface 'BkMrkSync.xpi', required to support synchronisation with Mozilla Firefox 3. Please repair Nokia PC Suite.

I've repaired Nokia PC Suite but the problem persists.

In the Firefox Add-ons window, PC Sync 2 Synchronisation Extension 1.0.0.713 is faded and labelled "Not compatible with Firefox 3.5.3". I contacted Nokia support who replied that "plug-ins are not developed by Nokia" and "to contact its developer for further assistance." I challenged them on this, but they've refused to answer any further questions.

I can't uninstall the Add-on and am stuck. Any advice?

exactly the same problem with N96 - this time on windows vista . Come on Zilla its been nearly 2 weeks without being able to sync!!!!!!!!!!

I have exactly the same problem synchronizing my Nokia 5800 xpress music. This is an ongoing problem ever since I've upgraded my Mozilla. Now, the Nokia guys play dead and from the Mozilla team there is no feedback either. Would someone PLEASE try to come up with a solution? The whole synchronisation stops at that point, and if you don't uncheck the bookmark rss feed option, no outlook updates are synchronized.

1. Remove the Nokia PC Sync 2 Synchronization Extension.

Thanks for your suggestions. The fix that worked on my E71 is to install the new PC Suite (7.1.40.1) which Nokia has just released. It installs the add-on, PC Sync 2 Synchronisation Extension 1.0.0.723, in Firefox and the problem is fixed.
Nearly three months to produce this fix - Nokia needs to improve their software maintenance programme.
