The Navigational Toolbar buttons like the Back, Forward, Reload, Stop, Home etc are spread across the entire toolbar. Earlier, they used to be clubbed together. Clicking Home or Reload was as easy as simply taking the pointer to the top left corner of the screen and clicking the button. Now, I need to really start hunting for the Home or the Reload button if i require to use it. Please can we club these buttons to one side of the page so that you don't have to look for them all across the toolbar?

Chosen solution

To prevent interferences between versions, use a specific profile for Firefox 4.0 Beta and keep you current profile for Firefox 3.6. It will probably solve your issue.

If you want to move toolbars items (buttons, icons), go to the Firefox menu, select the arrow on the right of Options, then select Toolbar layout.... Now, you can move any toolbar items or add new items from the customize Toolbar window by dragging and dropping. Close the Customize Toolbar window to lock items.

Thank you scoobidive. All I had to do to group the icons was to right click on the toolbar space at the top of mozilla firefox and choose customise. Then, from the actual toolbar on the browser, I was able to move the buttons where i pleased. I was able to club them all together. Thanks for your help mate.

it took a little, when you open customise you have to drag the icons from the tool bar then drag them back where you want them. I was just about to give up and use "ie". Now if i can just get all my bookmarks back.

It's great that you can move them around, but it shouldn't be necessary. I have no idea who thought it would be more efficient to scatter all the icons all over the place.

It clearly is not.

We don't need to see a completely different look to understand that 4.0 is better. All it does is aggravate everyone by forcing them to relearn where everything is and move the icons back, if they don't want them scattered all over the place. One easy solution is to have a setting for classic look in one of the menus. One click no hassle.

Remember, Mozilla is not MS thank God, don't copy one of their worst qualities.

p.s.

Please put the tabs above the page and not up on the title bar. I have no idea how that could possibly be considered an improvement.

You guys do good work so don't take my bitching to heart.

To avoid IE I'll do whatever I have to in order to make it work for me.

When you right click and select customize, all you have to do from there is hit default and the reload, stop and home button will move back to the left side automatically.

none of this works. I want my home button on the left where it always was. How can I move it?

It's really simple! At least I just found it so. My 'home' button disappeared to the right after downloading Version 4! So I got rid of Version 4 by downloading Version 3.6.3 instead. To move any button, all you do is:

a) Right click your 'home' button. b) Click on 'customise'. c) Whilst ignoring and leaving the newly window OPEN, left click on your 'home' button and drag it across to the original group on the left-hand side. It worked for me - hope it does for you!

Graham.

You need to click customize, while the customize toolbar is open click and drag the home icon to the left, click done. Finally you must check the bookmarks toolbar so you can see the home icon on the left side, the way used to be. If you don't check the bookmarks toolbar once you click done it will disappear. I started using IE 9 for the simple reason that I did not know how to do it with Firefox. I'm glad I found out the way how to do it. It took me several minutes to figure out, but it was worth it. I love FF.
