solution proposed firefox does not create cookies.sqlite file

Issue

I have a problem with my bookmarks, cookies, history or settings

Description

I have to login on each site over and over again when I restart Firefox. I looked through the forum and identified the problem is that the cookies.sqlite file is corrupt. Well in my case I don't even have a cookies.sqlite file. And regardless how many times I reinstall or restart Firefox cookies.sqlite file does not get created on my profile folder.

See Profiles: How to find your profile
"Application Data" in XP and "AppData" in Vista are hidden folders, use %APPDATA% in the File name field.

Go to: Control Panel > Folder Options > "View" tab > under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files and folders".
You might also want to un-check the box "Hide extensions for known file types", so that you can see the file extensions of all files.

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
Vista: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

Hi cor-el. I have done all this before raising the case. I did go to see the cookies.sqlite files and I couldn't find it in the specified folder not because I couldn't find the folder but because the file simply wasn't there. Please find attached screenshot.

The issue persists and I am unable to identify why Firefox is not creating the cookies.sqlite file. This is valid while Firefox is running and is closed.
