How to disable extensions and plugins

Disabling an add-on will turn it off without uninstalling it:

  1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the Tools menu and select Add-ons. The Add-ons window will appear.
  2. In the Add-ons window, select the Extensions panel or Plugins panel.
  3. Select the add-on you wish to disable.
  4. Click the Disable button.


  5. If prompted, click Restart Firefox to finish disabling the add-on.

To re-enable the add-on, find it in the list of Add-ons and click Enable, then restart Firefox.

How to uninstall extensions and themes

  1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the Tools menu and select Add-ons. The Add-ons window will appear.
  2. In the Add-ons window, select the Extensions panel or Themes panel.
  3. Select the add-on you wish to uninstall.
  4. Click the Uninstall button. When prompted, click Uninstall to confirm.

How to uninstall plugins
