Extensions, themes, and plugins are all types of add-ons for Firefox. This article describes how to disable and uninstall add-ons in Firefox.

How to disable extensions and plugins
Disabling an add-on will turn it off without uninstalling it:
- At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the Tools menu and select Add-ons. The Add-ons window will appear.
- In the Add-ons window, select the Extensions panel or Plugins panel.
- Select the add-on you wish to disable.
- Click the button.
- If prompted, click to finish disabling the add-on.
To re-enable the add-on, find it in the list of Add-ons and click , then restart Firefox.
How to uninstall extensions and themes
- At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the Tools menu and select Add-ons. The Add-ons window will appear.
- In the Add-ons window, select the Extensions panel or Themes panel.
- Select the add-on you wish to uninstall.
- Click the button. When prompted, click to confirm.
- If prompted, click to finish uninstalling the add-on.
How to uninstall plugins
Most plugins come with their own uninstallation utilities. For help uninstalling a certain plugin, go to the list of plugins articles and select the article for the plugin you want to uninstall.
