.NET Framework Assistant

The .NET Framework Assistant is an extension for enabling the use of Microsoft's ClickOnce technology in Firefox.

This extension was installed by Microsoft on some systems via a system update. It is also available from addons.mozilla.org.

Disabling the .NET Framework Assistant

  1. From the Tools menu select Add-ons.
  2. Click to select the Extensions panel.
  3. Click to select the .NET Framework Assistant entry.
  4. Click Disable.
  5. Restart Firefox.

Enabling the .NET Framework Assistant

Due to a potential security vulnerability, the .NET Framework Assistant was recently blocklisted temporarily by Mozilla.

The security vulnerability has since been addressed. To re-enable the extension:

  1. From the Tools menu select Add-ons.
  2. Click to select the Extensions panel.
  3. Click to select the .NET Framework Assistant entry.
  4. Click Enable.
  5. Restart Firefox.
