firefox 9.0.1 slow transfering data from some web pages Vista sp2 32 bit 20mb cable.

Since updating to 9.01 many web pages take forever to transfer data. IE works fine. Other websites load in a flash. Tested download speed and it is optimum at around 21mb. Tried running in safe mode with all extensions disabled. No help. Tried tweaking various settings with fasterfox. No help. Please help!
