I am unable to complete transactions using my credit/debit card

After the final process during purchases online when I enter my card authentication password I receive the following message:

HTTP Status Code: 408 HTTP Status Message: The client failed to send a request in the time allowed by the server. Error Code : 5999 Error Description : The Session is invalid or has expired.

I have just started using Firefox5 so I may have some settings wrong. After receiving this message on two different sites I purchased the items I wanted on Internet Explorer and Google Chrome with no problems
