Is it possible to run both Firefox 3 (my current version) and the new version 4 (already downloaded but not yet installed). If so, where and how do I install the new version Firefox 4?

I am using Windows 7 home premium.

Yes, but you need to have a separate profile for each version. When I installed FF4 I put in into a different directory (mozilla firefox 4) so it wouldn't overwrite the FF3 files. I'm not certain this was necessary but I do assume so.

Then follow the instructions at http://www.thewindowsclub.com/how-to-run-firefox-3-and-firefox-4-simultaneously-in-windows.

The article is incomplete, as one of the comments says: After you create a new profile, both versions will try to start using the newly created profile. So you will need to create shortcuts in the following format, so each browser should use its specific profile: “C:\{path to firefox directory}\firefox.exe” -P {profilename} -no-remote

Only then you can run both versions simultaneously.

Also, the icons didn't change from v3 to v4, so I've also created 32x32 icons to differentiate between the two versions on my taskbar. You're free to download and use them too: http://www.ghwd.net/icons/
