KeyScrambler- Is No Longer Good as Firefox Extension?
KeyScrambler from QFX Software is an app/extension that aims to defeat keylogger spyware by feeding gibberish to the keylogger. I installed the free version, 3 or four mos. ago on my XP Pro x86 SP3 system, found it in Get Add-ons I think; it works to encrypt keyboard output at low level, then decrypt when strokes reach the app (i.e., Firefox or M$ IE 8.0 browsers). Is not found in Add-ons Search now. Does this absence indicate Mozilla found a problem with later update version?
QFX Software the vendor. ($$cost "Pro" version works for docs in Word, etc. I'm on layoff over a year and need cheap.) Updated v2.6 seems to be working well - but new update available and is not found in Add-ons searches recent weeks. Does this make KeyScrambler a bad ext? Or, am I mistaken about Add-ons having it in past?

Mozilla have recently removed a lot of add-ons from the add-ons site. Any add-on that has not undergone at least a basic security review, and has not been requested by the author of the add-on to have a review has been removed.
It does not mean that there is a problem with the add-on, it is just that Mozilla have tightened the rules concerning what is allowed on the Mozilla add-ons site.

Thank you, for the helpful and comprehensive reply. I have emailed the sourcing vendor requesting that they should nominate this app again to Mozilla Add-ons, each time they release an update. It is a bright idea, and if it works (I am not hacker enough to verify it on my own) as advertised, it would be pretty good protection against key-loggers, and maybe work to stymie rootkits, too.
The problem is with Firefox team updating every time they release a bugfix now they up it a version and break the extensions for many plugins causing a headache for all the plugin developers out there to the point that they are killing plugin development at all. Many good plugin devs are giving up on trying to keep up with the ridiculous amount of version upgrades firefox is going through. Since the beginning of the year we went from 4.0 to 6.0..

And, BTW, although KeyScrambler is not found in Add-ons, even by Searching in the Get Add-ons window, and thus is not "recommended" by Mozilla Add-ons; and even on its (QFX Software) home website it only claims compatibility with Firefox 5.0 beta, I wish to report that I installed it in my Vista Basic OS (Dell Inspiron laptop) and so, I have KS running with Firefox v6.0 and NoScript v2.1.2.6, etc., and it looks as good as always. I hope it is performing the task of concealing my passwords, as advertised.
I'm using Keyscrambler Professional with FF 6.0.2 OS Win7. Been using the El Cheapo version then the Pro for a very long time without any problems. I have only ever paid a fee once a long long time ago for the Pro version. Regards from Down Under
