A few days ago I did a clean sweep of my PC so this meant clearing out things from my browsers. Without realizing it, I clicked Site Preferences, believing that it meant clearing more cache and history from Firefox, I didn't know it would literally wipeout the Exception Image and Cookie list. Is there anyway to store these? Do I have to redownload FF or can I download another list?

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.

If you do not have a backup of files in the Firefox Profile Folder then you will have to rebuild the exception lists.

If I have a backup and the files are still there, then what must be done to restore it?

The file "permissions.sqlite" stores 'allow' and 'block' exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and extensions (software) installation.
