waiting for www.superfish.com
I have to wait almost a minute for every operation I try to perform while the Firefox status bar says "Waiting for www.superfish.com".

This seems to be caused by IE Tab Plus's price comparison feature. See Tools > IE Tab Plus Options
As mentioned above, IE Tab Plus is known to install this. An alternative add-on is IE Tab 2 which does not include Window Shopper, the component that uses the superfish price comparison site. See if uninstalling the version of IE Tab that you are using and installing IE Tab 2 helps.
Thank you so much to both of you. It did the job. Thanks again.
Thank you!
Thank you so much. I was blaming all manner of things trying to explain the unwanted redirection to superfish. Regards
I,too ,had a problem with Superfish connecting in the background , though ,to my knowledge ,have never actually downloaded anything that related to Superfish. It didn't load a visible web page but was sitting there doing who knows what. After much angst and tearing of hair, I did the disable , re enable extensions trick and the culprit was Fox lingo. Once I disabled it , Superfish didn't get a look in. I can only assume that Fox lingo may have been updated recently , as I had not noticed any irregularities until quite recent times . Hope this helps
You can also download/install IE Tab Plus without the "shopper" from: http://coralietab.mozdev.org/installation.html
You should also be sure to update only from that site.
FoxLingo 2.6.9 has superfish as their currency converter. Go into Foxlingo options, Main tab and deselect the currency converter/comparison button.

The addon Converter also has a superfish feature. With me it appeared I had this enabled somehow. Disabling finally solved the issue with superfish lag...
Surf Canyon was the culprit for me, removing it fixed the problem ;)
The problem in my case is the Calculator Addon. Since the last update superfish.com is loading on every url. In the options you cannot disable it. Just get ridd of it and youre problems are gone. gr Marja
i had this same problem it turned out to be a component of fastestfox. i disabled fastestfox, and the problem went away.
I had this problem and it was the fasterfox add on, so I uninstalled that and installed the fasterfox lite and it solved this.
