Page styles disabled

You may have inadvertently set the page style to "No Style." To ensure Firefox is set to use the page's default style:

  • At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the View menu, then select Page Style, then click Basic Page Style.

Now that the page is using its default style, it may be displayed correctly.

Old version cached

Firefox caches websites, which means it saves some files on your machine so that it doesn't have to re-download everything when you visit sites. If a website has updated their code, Firefox may still be using some of the old code along with some of the new, which can make a web page display incorrectly. To fix this, you need to clear the cache:

  1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
  2. Select the Advanced panel.
  3. Click on the Network tab
  4. Click Clear Now
  5. Click OK to close the Options windowClick Close to close the Preferences windowClose the Preferences window.

Now that your cache is cleared, visit the website again to see if the problem is solved.

Page is zoomed in or out

3:

Some websites may not look right at different zoom levels. To reset the page zoom setting for the site, click on the View menu, select Zoom, and then select Reset.

Minimum font size set

Some sites do not display properly with a minimum font size. To reset the minimum font size:

  1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
  2. Click to select the Content panel.
  3. In the Fonts & Colors section, click Advanced....
  4. Change the Minimum font size to None.

Scripts blocked

Some sites require JavaScript to display properly. JavaScript is enabled by default in Firefox, but to check its status:

  1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
  2. Click to select the Content panel.
  3. Make sure that Enable JavaScript is checked.
  4. Click OK to close the Options windowClick Close to close the Preferences windowClose the Preferences window

You should also check whether you have an extension (such as NoScript) or Internet security program (such as a firewall, antivirus, or anti-spyware program) that can block JavaScript.

Website doesn't support Firefox

A small minority of pages simply don't work in Firefox. While you can't immediately fix the problem, you can report the website to the Firefox developers and they can either fix the problem in Firefox or contact the owner of the site. To report a broken website:

  1. Open the Report Broken Web Site window:
    • At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the Help menu, then select Report Broken Web Site....
  2. On the dialog that appears, fill in information about the problem.
  3. Click Submit Report.
