Using the Adobe Reader plugin with Firefox

Show content customized for:

Adobe Reader is a free program for viewing and printing of PDF documents. It includes a browser plugin for displaying PDF documents within Firefox and other Web browsers. Adobe Reader is published by Adobe Systems.

  • PDF is a widely used document format. Due to the compact space requirements of PDF documents, it is well-suited for use on the Internet.
  • If you are unsure whether you can open PDF files, you can download the Adobe Reader User Guide PDF, which is in PDF format. If you can see the contents of the PDF file within Firefox, then the browser plugin is enabled.

This article provides resources for setting up Adobe Reader and the browser plugin on your computer.
