Upgrading to Firefox 3.5
Firefox 3.5 was released on June 30th 2009. Firefox 3.5.x will be maintained with security and stability updates until August 2010.
- You will still have your existing information such as bookmarks and passwords, but you should back up your information before upgrading to Firefox 3.5 anyway.
- Some add-ons will temporarily not work, because they are not updated for Firefox 3.5 yet. Check the list of incompatible add-ons.

Upgrading from Firefox 3.0.x
To upgrade Firefox in place on Linux, you will need wait for your distribution's package manager to repackage and offer the upgrade.
If your copy of Firefox is from Mozilla instead of the package managerTo upgrade from Firefox 3.0.x, you need to be using the latest update to Firefox 3.0.x.
- Open the Help menu and click Check for Updates... to be taken through the Firefox Update process.
- Once you are upgraded to the latest update to Firefox 3.0.x, use Help > Check for Updates... again, to update to Firefox 3.5.

- Private Browsing Mode, which allows you to browse the Internet without Firefox retaining any data about which sites and pages you have visited.
- Forget About This Site, which allows you to delete all traces of a specific website from your history.
- Clear Recent History, which allows you to clear all traces of data in your history from the previous hour, two hours, four hours, or everything from that day.
- Recently closed windows, which allows you to re-open a window you may have accidentally closed.
