Support Firefox Day 4 will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008. We will have three different timeslots to accommodate people from around the world.
Support Firefox Day is a regular event hosted on support.mozilla.com where the community gathers and introduces new people to Firefox support and we have presentations and discussion about support-related issues. And we have lots of fun. This time around, the focus of the events will be all about support in all languages, or localization.
support.mozilla.com or SUMO for short, is centrally a knowledge base consisting of hundreds of support articles about Firefox, accessed by hundreds of thousands of users every week. We have a number of articles translated into a few other languages but this effort is still in its early stages. As the Firefox userbase spans the globe, we are looking to expand the support community in these other languages and reach out to Firefox users and community members for their help.
The focus of this Support Firefox Day event is to introduce you to the features of SUMO that make it really easy to get started translating articles and working with the community members who speak your language.
We'll also be having a discussion about the goals of Mozilla as a whole as we look into the next decade. Everyone who contributes in any way to the Mozilla community as a programmer, a support helper, a translator or a user has a voice in how Mozilla approaches the future. We would like you to participate in this discussion through events such as Support Firefox Day and offer your input.
