Importing Bookmarks from an HTML File

This article explains how to import an HTML bookmarks file.
Firefox 3:
Before proceeding, you should make a backup of your current bookmarks. You can do this by opening the Bookmarks Library window (explained below), then selecting Import and Backup and choosing Backup....
- From the menu at the top of the Firefox windowbar, click the Bookmarks menu and choose Organize Bookmarks... to open the Library window.
- From the toolbar on the Library window, select Import and Backup and choose Import HTML....

- From an HTML file is selected by default. Click the NextContinue button.

- Firefox will ask you to select the bookmark file on your hard drive to import. Navigate to the file, select it, and click the Open button.
- The bookmarks in the selected HTML file have been imported into your Firefox bookmarks.
Firefox 2:
Before proceeding, you should make a backup of your current bookmarks. You can do this by opening the Bookmarks Manager window (explained below), then selecting the File menu and choosing Export....
- From the menu at the top of the Firefox windowbar, click the Bookmarks menu and choose Organize Bookmarks... to open the Bookmarks Manager window.
- In the Bookmarks Manager window, select the File menu and choose Import...
- From File is selected by default. Click the NextContinue button.
- Firefox will ask you to select the bookmark file on your hard drive to import. Navigate to the file, select it, and click the Open button.
- The bookmarks in the selected HTML file have been imported into your Firefox bookmarks.
