You may have to log in twice to Hotmail/Windows Live Hotmail/MSN Hotmail when using Firefox.

The issue occurs when you try to log in to Hotmail with an @msn.com or @compaq.net e-mail address. After you enter your e-mail address and password correctly and press Sign in, you're told that "The e-mail address or password is incorrect. Please try again.". Then, when you try again, you log in successfully.

Even though the problem doesn't occur in Internet Explorer, it's not a bug in Firefox. Users of other browsers, like Opera and Safari, also have this problem. The Firefox team have been made aware of this issue and will be contacting the Hotmail team to solve the problem. You can also send feedback to the Hotmail team yourself.

• Bookmark this page, which will let you log in with one try.
• If you have the Greasemonkey extension, you can also use this user script.
