CA Internet Security suite is a software package for Microsoft Windows. It includes a firewall component (CA Personal Firewall), which controls which programs can access the outside world. If CA Personal Firewall is not set to fully allow Firefox, Firefox will be unable to connect to web sites and may generate "Server not found" errors.

This article describes how to configure CA Personal Firewall to give Firefox access to the Internet.

1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the File menu, and select Exit..
2. Click the Windows Start button, then select All Programs > CA > CA Internet Security Suite > CA Personal Firewall > CA Personal Firewall to open the CA Personal Firewall Window.
3. On the left side of the CA Personal Firewall window, click the Firewall icon.
   
   
   
4. In the Advanced Application Control list, find Firefox. Click on the Firefox entry, then click Delete. Click Yes when asked Are you sure you want to delete the selected application?.
   
   
   
5. Above the Application Control List, click Add....
6. Navigate to the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ by default). Click to select firefox.exe and click OK.
   
   
   
7. Click the new entry for Firefox and then right-click the ? underneath Safe and choose Allow from the context menu. The ? will change to a green check mark. Repeat this for the ? underneath Restricted.
   
   
   
8. Click the entry for Firefox and then click Edit to open the Configure Application Rules window.
9. Click to place a check mark in the This program changes frequently (Identify by path) box. This will help Firefox keep its connection following automatic updates.
   
   
   
10. Click OK to close the Configure Application Rules window.
11. In the top-right corner of the window, click the X to close the CA Personal Firewall window.
