This article describes how to clear single items or all items from the Location bar history.

Clearing a single item from the Location bar history
- To clear a single item in the Location bar history, click the drop-down arrow in the Location bar.

- Press the Down arrow key, or move the mouse, to highlight the entry to delete.

- To clear the highlighted item, hold down the Shift key and press Delete.
The item is deleted.
Clearing all items in the Location bar history
- To clear all Location bar history, press Ctrl+Shift+Del, or click the Tools menu, and select Clear Private Data....

- In the Clear Private Data window, select Browsing History.
- Note: Be sure to de-select any other private data that you do not want to be cleared.

- To clear all items in the Location bar history, press Clear Private Data Now.
The Location bar history is cleared.
Troubleshooting
I still see items with a star in the Location bar
This happens because the Smart Location Bar feature in Firefox 3 includes bookmarks as well as places you have visited. To turn off display of pages you have not visited in the Smart Location Bar, install the Hide Unvisited add-on.
