Firefox redirects me to google and will not allow me to connect to any url i type in the address bar!

Issue
I have a problem with my bookmarks, cookies, history or settings
Description
I try to enter a url such as facebook.com and firefox directs me to a google search for facebook.com. Even when I click the google result for facebook.com or any other website it will redirect me to a non-related web page or will simply direct me to the same google results page. Also when I try to unistall and then reinstall firefox the OPEN option is not available in the download box, only SAVE FILE is an option. Somehow my options have changed please help I can not get to any website and comcast will not help!
