Issue

I have another kind of problem with Firefox

Description

Every time I start Firefox, I have had to log in to any new web site I have visited. This has to be done over and over again. Prior to August 20, I was able to start the browser and remain signed in to any web site I visited. What action would I take in order to be able to start the browser and, after I have signed in to any given web site, remain so upon closing and reopening the same?

"Remember Me" for automatic website logins when you return to the website is done with a Cookie the website set in Firefox. There seems to be a problem that started with the Firefox 3.0.1 security update where websites don't seem to recognize their own Cookie for Remember Me after a Firefox minor version security update; I don't know if the problem is with Firefox or the website looking too close at the version number of Firefox. Clearing the problem Cookie usually solves this problem.

Try clearing your Cookies for the affected websites.
Tools > Options -> Privacy - Cookies = Show Cookies button
Enter the domain in the Search bar at the top and all the Cookies for that URL will appear. Unless you can figure out which Cookie is for "remember me", you'll need to delete them all.

Hold the {Ctrl} key while you click on each Cookie in the small window. When that list is all highlighted, click the Remove Cookie button in the lower left.
When you are done click Close.

If that problem persists, you might need to delete the cookies.sqlite file in your Profile folder.

You might need to unhide your "Hidden files and folders" thru Folder Options in the Windows Control Panel
