You can try to disable JIT by seting some prefs false on the about:config page:
javascript.options.jit.chrome
javascript.options.jit.content

You can start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See Troubleshooting extensions and themes
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change (File > Exit).

You can ask questions about Firefox 3.1 and 3.2 (nightly, alpha and beta) builds at the MozillaZine Firefox Builds forum.
You need to register on the MozillaZine forum site in order to post on that forum.
This forum is mainly for assisting end-users that use the current release versions of Firefox 2 and 3.

Did you fix it?

I have the same problem here with my firefox 3.5.1.
I have done this accidentaly and fixed the problem.

While my firefox 3.5.1 is installed I installed the nightly builds firefox-3.6a1pre.en-US.win32.installer.exe in a different folder I tried to run it then after fully loading the 3.6 browser I closed it then loaded firefox 3.5.1 then the problem did not occur again.

Don't know why. Maybe there is a setting or something or a problematic file that was replaced.

But the icons of my bookmarks are all the same anyone knows how to fix it?
The icons of the websites are not reflected in my bookmarks

I downloaded the version 3.5.1 and I am still getting a low memory condition under windows vista home premium. I thought they would fix this problem but it has not been fixed. The condition corrupts the interface and the rendering of pictures in different websites. I have tried to narrow down the cause but the problem continues. Can anyone help??

I get this too. It only happens when I attempt to open my yahoo mail. It doesn't happen on any other site, or even on any other part of yahoo - only when I click on the mail button to view my messages.

Happens to me always when I have the BOINC agent (grid compuring using unused CPU power) running.

Im glad to know that I'm not the only one with this problem. It seems to be the worst when I'm running my gmail. If I'm running gmail chat as well, it locks up. All the icons for my firefox toolbars disappear and I get that annoying alert. Has anyone found which add on may be causing the issue?

I don't know for sure if it's an add-on problem or not, but it hasn't happened to me of late, and the only change that's been made to my computer since it stopped happening has been an update to NoScript (I didn't look at the details of the NoScript update to see if it specifically addressed that or not).

Im sure its not an addon problem because I removed my profiles, addons and reinstalled my firefox 3.5.1 only, but with my new profile and I have not installed any addon the problem still occurs.

after going into safe mode and then going through each of my addons, it doesn't seem to be an addon for me either.

I did however stop using my theme "LittleFox 1.8.50" and reverted to the default theme. So far at least, no annoying pop ups. I'm not sure if this will work for everyone, or even if it's what the problem was at all, but it's worked (so far - crosses fingers)

Definitely not an add-on or theme-based problem; I don't run any, and I receive this error every day running Firefox 3.5 on my XP at work.

Every. Day.

Yeah i get it alot and by alot i mean about 5 times a day, I would love to figure out what it is and im sure its not a addon on my side.

It started happening to me again. It didn't do it for a few days, and then it started happening again a couple days ago. It still only happens when I check my mail on yahoo. It's never happened on any other site, or on any other part of yahoo. My whole computer locks up for anywhere between 30 seconds to 2 or 3 minutes, then the "low memory condition" message appears, and then I X out of the message, and everything works fine. If I don't X out of the message, rather click "OK," the message will keep popping up.

Same problem. The problem cropped up after I updated to 3.5, so I updated to 3.5.1 thinking that might help. It was fine for a couple of days and then it appeared again. I don't think it's an addon problem--I've disabled all (three) of mine. Is it possibly a Firefox bug or is there something I'm doing wrong?

Come on Mozilla, fix this problem or you'll lose customers.

Get it sorted and fast!

Okay, I tried downgrading to 3.0.12--the last stable, non-beta version I tried before upgrading to 3.5, and then 3.5.1. Right now, I have 10 tabs up (previously, in 3.5.1, I had issues even with 2 tabs), among them Youtube, Flickr, TinyPic, Gmail, and meebo. Flash, images, email. No error messages at all (though 3.0.12 is noticeably slower than 3.5, once you've tried the newest version).

I also uninstalled all my addons (Adblock Plus, Javascript Quickstarter, Read It Later, Mobile Barcoder), but it's not an addon problem since I uninstalled the addons before downgrading, but still had the low memory error message. Not a theme problem either, since I'm using some random one in 3.0 and it's still clear.

So, if you don't mind your browser being a little slower than in 3.5, I suggest downgrading as a temporary fix. Until Mozilla fixes it for good, that's the best it's going to get.

Anyone know how to get Mozilla's attention to this problem? I want to use 3.5 again--I miss its speed.

Thanks ymak. I'd imagine Mozilla guys read these forums, no? I also wrote the error message in a crash report window that came up when Firefox crashed because of this issue (that's happened a couple times), so the information is being passed along that way (via the crash report) as well.

I'm not going to downgrade just yet. As I've said, it only happens to me when I'm checking my yahoo email (which I'm going to abandon soon anyway). I have the "IE tab" add-on, so I use that to switch the rendering engine and I have no problems when I'm using yahoo mail in the IE tab.

Dan: What you said about X-ing out of the error message is interesting, because I tried that and it froze Firefox completely. I had to click 'OK', which as you said made the message keep popping up. Also, my computer never locked up in between trying to load a page and then giving me the error. The weird thing about this bug is that every single poster I've read on a variety of forums is describing it differently, apart from the same message. Nobody is having exactly the same issues with it.

Lucky for you--I use a lot of photo and Java sites, so it's getting to be a real problem for me. But yeah, downgrading really does sacrifice a lot of speed and some of the little conveniences that 3.5 has. If you can manage alright without it, don't bother.

Thanks for including it in the crash report, that'll help it get to the attention of people who can fix it.

this new mozilla is NOTHING but problems for me>:l

A script on this page has been stopped due to a low memory condition

Same ... seriously frustrating using Yahoo also. I can't delete mail, even getting to my mail takes forever. Definitely started after latest upgrade ... very, very frustrating!!!
