When browsing, moving the mouse sometimes triggers the Back function

Issue
I have another kind of problem with Firefox
Description
On rare occasions, moving the mouse triggers the Back function, so Firefox jumps back to the previous page in my history. I can't find any pattern to this. Sometimes it seems like the glitch also moves the mouse pointer to the Back button's screen location, but I'm not sure of that. I use a 3-button Logitech mouse with left & right buttons, and a wheel that also works as a center button. The center button is configured to produce the 'pointer scroller' — that is, click the wheel button and I get a four-pointed icon which lets me scroll the page just by moving the mouse pointer. Click a second time and it goes away.
This behavior has occurred now on two different machines, although the mouse being used is the same.
